Newborn baby photography

Newborn Baby shoots can be booked based on your due date. You can either send me an enquiry, via the contact form. Or go right ahead and book in with my online booking calendar.

Once your baby has arrived let me know and we'll firm up your shoot date. I'm able to be pretty flexible if you can do a weekday shoot.

If you are establishing a routine we can time your shoot for when it's best in the day. It's good to have given your baby a big feed an hour or two before I arrive, so if you feed while I'm there it's a top up feed that wont take as long.

Usually they will be asleep for some of the shoot and awake for some, will need a nappy changed or need settling. That's all good. I'll be taking a mix of lifestyle, portrait, & candid images.

The first 3 weeks is recommended to get them while they are super new. Welcoming a photographer into your home might feel daunting if you're getting sleepless nights. If it all just gets too much we can reschedule your shoot.

Your whole home doesn't need to be 'photo shoot ready'. I can work with just a couple of spots near window light. When I arrive I'll figure out where it will be best to shoot and we may do a quick tidy up of those areas. We'll most likely use your couch, nursing chair, and bed.

It's good to have a few baby outfits and favourite blankets, your sheepskin, or moses basket ready to use, and any little toys or special things you want included in the photos.

Neutrals or coordinated colours work well. Try to avoid clothes with logos or big patterns or graphics on them. Wear casual, comfortable clothes, you'll be sitting on couches or beds and cuddling up with each other.

You can change your baby into another outfit during the shoot if you want. Consider if your top will allow for it if you're breastfeeding.

For a newborn shoot it's just your immediate family. You are welcome to upgraded to an extended family shoot. Then I can take all the baby portraits and family combinations you want at your shoot.

Your photos are delivered in an online, password protected gallery, in both big/high resolution and small/web res Jpeg files for sharing online. You can share, download the files, & order archival prints from your gallery.

Your photos are all edited by me, and you'll get a mix of colour and black & white.

All packages include all the digital files. In the interests of preserving our time and sanity I do not charge a small 'sitting fee' and then require you to choose which images you want to purchase after the shoot. My prices are the total cost, the shoot and all the high res files.

You can expect your photos to be delivered in a maximum of 4 weeks from the shoot day.
